In 2002, her "No Regrets" CD was released on the Gold Circle Records Label.
Selections from, "No Regrets", have been on radio charts all over Europe. In
November 2002, she released her latest CD, "Reasons for the Season", a jazzy
compilation of Christmas hymns. Previously in 1999, the Atlanta native released
her own independently produced CD entitled, "All of Me," for which she co-wrote 8
out of the CD's 11 songs.
Additionally, Bertrand penned the national theme song for the 100 Black Men of
America.
The jazz singer has opened for many of America's most prestigious artists,
including Roy Ayers, Grammy winners David Benoit, Tony Bennett, and Tony Rich,
Rachelle Ferrell, and the late George Howard. Additionally, Bertrand has a
tremendous reputation as one of the nation's most requested singers for the
National Anthem, having sung for the Atlanta Braves, Falcons and Hawks, for
NASCAR's NAPA 500, and for both President George H. W. Bush and President Bill
Clinton.
Kathleen has opened for such artists as B
T Express, Roy Ayers, Jeff Lorber and the Sounds of Blackness. She has taken her
own cabaret act to the Plush Room, the Midtown Festival, and the Piedmont Park
Festival Cabaret Night. She has also been a featured performer at the New Year's
Eve Peach Drop at Underground Atlanta, the National Black Arts Festival, the
Atlanta Jazz Festival, the Atlanta/Montreux International Music Festival,
KingFest and numerous other festivals and venues in the country.
Earlier in her career, Kathleen joined jazz vibraphonist Roy Ayers and his band
Ubiquity as lead vocalist. With Ayers she toured the United States and Canada,
recorded on two of his albums, and performed in Carnegie Hall, 'certainly one of
the highlights of my life as a performing artist,' she says. In it's review of
the Carnegie Hall concert, the New York Post said, 'Jackson's powerful pipes
sent us right into the stratosphere.'
Kathleen has the unique distinction of having performed for three different
Olympics! Her voice was heard round the world during the closing ceremonies of
the '92 Barcelona Olympic Games as NBC aired an Atlanta commercial featuring her
solo a capella vocals. The Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games sent Bertrand
to Lillehammer, Norway, during the '94 Winter Olympics as a performing 'cultural
ambassador'. During the '96 Olympics, Kathleen was one of the regular performers
featured in Centennial Park during the seventeen days of the Olympic Games. |
