The Next Movement

Chicago is a city known for its vast reservoir of talented young artist. In the spring of 1972 five aspiring local youths, Earl Shelby, Carnell Haywood, Alonzo Pickens, Samuel Thomas Jr. and Guy Sutton began their quest for a career in the entertainment industry. In a business known for its lack of artist performance "The Next Movement" is Chicago's own success story.

Precise harmonies and versatile lead singing is highlighted by dazzling choreography worthy of any Las Vegas stage. Influenced by R&B and pop traditions of the early 60's & 70's to present, The Next Movement has taken their unique brand of entertainment to audiences across the world.

The Next Movement

Coined by Oprah Winfrey as "The best group in Chicago", (Hotel Nikko), Next Movement mixes a rich blend of contemporary and nostalgic music suitable to the most discriminating taste. They have appeared in concert and on live television productions alongside entertainment legends such as, Gladys Knight, Denise Williams, Bobbie McFerrin and other well known entertainers.
